Attest 1.5 FREE Adobe Flex 3 with AIR certification Practice exam

Attest 1.5 beta released!

To all of you waiting for so long, my humble apologies At last you can use Attest 1.5 beta to study for the Adobe Flex 3 with AIR certification exam. I've been so inundated with client projects that it took this long to get it out. A few fun facts:

Attest was completely rebuilt from the ground up in Adobe AIR
It's FREE for non-commerical use
There will be regular updates, bug fixes, enhancements, and errata corrections for future versions.

This version, and all versions going forward are a joint effort between myself and Holly Schinsky of Rich Desktop Solutions, Inc., without whom Attest would still be sitting around deep in the guts of my hard-drive, waiting to be released Holly was an enormous help with writing questions and answers, research, programming, making enhancements, styling, killing bugs, testing, and especially motivation! Many of you will know her from her work on Adobe's Tour de Flex AIR application. She's an awesome developer to work with and we'll definitely be doing more projects together in the very near future. After you go and get certified, be sure to drop her a comment or two and thank her for helping out. We're calling this version a beta because we wanted to add more to it, but this was the quickest way we could release the app for the community. Now you have something solid to study with finally, I know haha!

Another boring and brief history of Attest. When I first wrote the application, it was built in Apollo, I mean way back. At the time Apollo wasn't really feasible to release Attest with, so I switched to C#. Bingo bongo done, here it is built in AIR again, which makes things cross-platform, easily upgradable and expandable, any errata can be fixed pronto, and it's free for the community (non-commercial use), not to mention a lot prettier

So for all of you waiting for so long, enjoy! Let Holly or me know of any issues, bugs, errata, etc, and especially any cool ideas you have for the app. We want to hear them all!

–To answer your question, yes it was very helpful. Some of your tests are probably tricker than the real one. I think that the main way the Attest practice tests help is to identify areas you are weak in. Then you need to actually read up on those areas, play around with them in applications and really get a good handle of it.

Anyway, I went through the real test very quickly. I felt like I knew all the answers and I was shocked when I only got 80%. I only got 50% on the Data Services part and I thought that was my strongest area

@Bigyan,
Thanks for the feedback! Yup, I was pretty shocked at the exam myself, but that’s usually the case. They try to get tricky with wording, and also with asking questions that might have more than one answer, where one is obvious and the other is sort of unorthodox. Like you wouldn’t normally pick that method to get something done in Flex or AIR.

Holly and I are thinking of all new features to add to Attest soon, and one of the ideas was to make it much trickier than the real exam. So that way, if you can pass these new exams, you know you can pass the real one.

Past the Exam earlier today

As mentioned before the questions on Attest are a bit harder than the real exam, some of the exam questions were pretty Easy other were a bit confusing, had about 4=5 questions on local SQL connection.

For Attest, I think it would be good to add a link to see the questions you got wrong at the end, so the correct answer will make more sense,

(the GUI for attest is way better then the borring windows 95 GUI that the exam used)

@Yaron congrats! Nice work The exam switches up questions each time a user takes it apparently. But Holly and I are working on more Qs and features for Attest pretty soon.

I just need to now that what are the standards of attest mock exams when compared to real one, is it tougher than the real exam or easier.

Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it. So far, most of the feedback Holly and I have had is that Attest is harder, but beyond a doubt the thing we hear over and over is that it’s dead on accurate. You consistent scores on Attest should match up with your score on the real exam.

Hi,
I have successfully completed my certification yesterday and was delighted when i saw congratulations on screen just when finish button was pressed after the exam ) . Well percentage was not great though it was 76%, but was finally relieved that i cleared it.
Thank you Attest for providing such a good software. Well i can say that if one can pass the attest mock then you can surely pass the flex cert exam!!
All the best to the Attest team and keep on gud work by providing more mock exams…!!!!
