Attest 3 due out this week

I got word from the folks at the Adobe AIR Marketplace that there is a bug in their system. So when we submitted Attest 3 a few weeks back, it was stuck in the validation process and hence no Attest for anyone just yet.

The good news is that the version that was submitted was only the free/trial version, and there was no full product yet because it wasn’t 100% ready, but the full version will be out soon. Word from Adobe is that the bug will be fixed this week, and that means I should be posting again this week when the full version is out.

If all goes well, this should be the week where you can start knocking your head against the desk once you start reading the tougher questions Holly and I created for the latest version of Attest It was our goal to make some of them tougher, more subjective and if anything, make Attest harder to pass than the actual exam. So once it’s released, as always, let us know what you think as we continue to write new material for the app.

Does this version cover the Flex 4 exam or only the Flex 3?

Yes, Flex 4 exam. I’m not sure how much longer the Flex 3 exam will be available or if it is still available now? But Attest 3 only covers the Flex 4 ACE for now.

Hi Dave

When we click on “To download the program, you can visit our Attest website at software.pxldesigns.com/attest3″, it asks for authentication!

How can we get the username password for it? Thanks.

Hey Paras,
I just removed auth now. But shhhhh We locked the app up for the weekend because Adobe finally approved it late on Friday. So the official release is tomorrow morning since it was a 3 day holiday weekend in the US.

So enjoy for now, if you notice any errata, typos, bugs or anything, let me know. Just please do me a favor, save any blog posts or tweets until we release ours tomorrow morning. We want to release our official posts/tweets early in the AM when everyone’s back at work.

In the meantime, good luck studying!!

Haha! I want to use that on my resume Paras. I Am Legend! nice ring to it.

You might see tweaks to the questions before tomorrow morning because Attest isn’t official yet But everyone reading this post gets the sneak preview. Enjoy!

Paras, you guys who were running Attest3 over the weekend might want to reinstall the same version 3.0.2. There are actually quick bug fixes in there. We submitted 3.0.3 to the Marketplace, but it’s not available yet.

something strange is going on here. I uninstalled 3.0.2 and reinstalled it from: http://software.pxldesigns.com/attest3/download

It’s still showing as 3.0.2!!!

Also, does/should it not auto update anyway?
Also, why does it not show up still on Adobe marketplace?

Does the app work as expected though? It should work fine. It will still show 3.0.2 for now. It’s technically 3.0.3 fixes, but because it takes a while for the marketplace to reflect the update versions, I wrapped the fixes in this version so its public quicker. Once the marketplace updates 3.0.3, it’ll prompt for a real upgrade.

Its working ok then? In a day or so, it should prompt you for the 3.0.3 upgrade once the Marketplace approves the patched version. In the meantime, you have the patch by the magic of Flex/AIR! haha!

ok. cheers for that! yes, works fine for me. no errors.

I hope you guys change the fonts at some point though. not very easy to read, to be honest. thanks again. or maybe users can customize the fonts??

There’s only one version now though. You can use the trial indefinitely (more or less) or upgrade to the full version. When you start up Attest 3, you’ll be presented with an option to use the Trial or purchase the full app http://software.pxldesigns.com/attest3/download
