Apple’s iPhone and Apollo?
Jun 9th, 2007 by Dave
This looks too cool Apple iPhone. Now I’m thinking, Apple hasn’t sold a single one yet, maybe a little reading up on the iPhone would be in order. I’m wondering if anyone’s thinking of Adobe Apollo apps for the iPhone yet. Two new technologies like this give me the giggles late at night when I think of what I could build.
I guess I have to find out how one does develop apps for the iPhone specifically. The price is insanity but that never seemed to stop any of us from buying the iPod
Apparently, it’s all in the works. So I have ideas buzzing around my head about what would be cool to see running on this jammy. Anyone hear anything about Apple and developing for the iPhone?

Time will tell and with all that dpi and screen size will not go to waste.
I’m seeing all kinds of stuff online, but no definitive answer as to whether or not iPhone will support a flash player. My guess would be yes. But I’m finding all kinds of stories online.
Hmmm found this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/…
Probably should be another post in itself, but apparently Steve Jobs said go for it to 3rd party developers as far as the iPhone is concerned. Very cool, let’s see if we can blow some Air up the iPhone’s butt
Even if (shudder) Flash gets ported to the iPhone, I suspect it will lack support for things like phone dialer access, multi-touch, and so on.
As such, I suspect that if you’re going to want to do iPhone development you’re going to need to learn a real programming language…
That’s the thing, just how much support will there be and for what exactly? According to Yahoo, they’re talking full 3rd party development. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/…
We’ll have to wait until February to see. Around that time, Adobe Air will be a full release (Q1 2008) and there may be an explosion of applications flying all over the place.
And Michael Long you’re definition of a real programming language is?
Or are you just one of those blithering idiots who talk out their arse.
*lol*
Sorry, people like you are just lame.
@Michael: Why’s is ActionScript 3.0 not a real programming language? True, I would have never touched the stuff before, but being a Java and C# developer (C++ long before that), I’m not having any issues with ActionScript 3.0 — it’s fully object-oriented, has some beautiful dynamic functionality, easy XML (e4x) syntax.
It’s cool to see some perspective from a Java/C#/C++ developer on AS3. Personally, I love it! Been working with it for over 8 years so I got to see AS3 grow up. I still remember Smart Clips
These days, it’s not so different from Java. That would actually make a pretty cool new post, devs from the other side of the fence getting into AS3, and what they think of it.
It definitely has matured. And now with Flex and Air, I know I’ve got some crazy ideas for apps on the iPhone depending on just how much Apple let’s us play with it.
I can’t download Apollo IM directly from installer. Are there any other way to do it?
Thanks a lot
@Eric,
I think you got the wrong pxl, you want a few pxl’s over
