MyStylez 1.1 released - meet the Flickr API
May 1st, 2008 by Dave
In my last post I mentioned I had one more bug to work through to fix MyStylez to get it to work with the AS3 Flickr library. At first I cussed and stared at the wall, but then I traced back through the code and debugged the heck out of it until I found out that the photosets.addPhoto call wasn't behaving properly.
After some googling, I saw the guys on AS3Flickr project already had it covered, I just had a missing patch to the code. Nothing a little Tortoise SVN checkout couldn't fix
ok so I was pretty tired working on this one all night, but without further adieu, I present MyStylez + Flickr for your Flickr-ific pleasure!
MyStylez now allows you to access all your Flickr photos and drag and drop them on the left side modules to build your MySpace layout with your own custom Flickr photos. You can also upload new photos, with drag and drop if you're just so inclined, to uplod to your Flickr account.
For Flickr's purpose in MyStylez, I decided to leave out deleting photos because it seemed unnecessary for now. The only purpose I wanted was to access Flickr, grab all the original sized photos only and allow the user to drag and drop them into their template....cake!
Ran into a bunch of bugs along the way, like the old upload not working on the Mac, but smacked them down one by one to create this nifty new version of MyStylez. AIR is totally cool to work with! I'm just looking for the next API to work into this project and make the app cooler. Any ideas?
