Peekaboo Paperie.com – Adobe Site of the Day Award 9-19-2008
Sep 19th, 2008 by Dave
Woo hoo! I was pretty psyched when I got the email today stating that Peekaboo Paperie.com won the Adobe Site of the Day Award!
Recognition rocks, so to give credit where credit is due:
Peekaboo Paperie is the combined effort of PXL Designs, LLC and CAB Design. Christine Grippaldi did the site design, and yours truly created the Custom Announcement Creator in Adobe Flex 3.
It also makes use of a number of popular open source Flex components like Doug McCune's CoverFlow based on the PaperVision 3D and Tweener open source libraries, Dustin Andrew's File Upload component, and Marc Hughes' ObjectHandles component.
Nice work, and big thanks to everyone's code contributions, designs, and advice pulling this project together!

Hi wonder if you can help me – I have stubbled across your article regarding the launch of you new project Peekaboo…(looks good)
Basically i’m trying to set up my own website at the moment and it uses similar functions to which you have created.
I’m trying to set up a online t-shirt company where my customers can customize their own products like yours, but am finding it hard to get the right solution.
I have tried to find the solution through using magento but still not working.
I have pretty basic knowledge of setting up websites but wanting to ask if FLEX is a good program to learn as I have all the latest Adobe software, as I am a graphic/ brand designer.
Do you set up websites ? and if so roughly how much would it cost for something similar? – or would you be willing to share your knowledge or know of anybody that could help.
kind regards

Hey Marc,
I would strongly recommend Adobe Flex 3 if you want similar functionality, but then again, I’m pretty biased on the technology side of things
Flex is definitely easy to learn and a great tool to have under your belt, but keep in mind a lot of the functionality you see on PeekabooPaperie.com is pretty complicated and involves a lot of database and PHP work on the server side. The custom card creator is a rich internet app, we build those every day all day, but a price would be hard to quote for you without knowing the full scope of the project. Feel free to email me if you want to discuss more dave AT pxldesigns DOT com
